GSL Code A Top 5 Games to Watch

GSL Ro. 60 Games to Watch

With the upcoming Global Starcraft League 2016 games, I wanted to put together a list of the top games to watch. While Legacy is still new and anyone can have a breakout tournament this year, this will mostly cover great players from the Heart of the Swarm era.

Dear vs sOs PvP – January 22 2016 – 18:30 KST – 4:30 A.M. (ET)

Two of the greater known Heart of the Swarm Protoss players, both of these players were Champions at least once during HotS. Dear had a massive slump potentially the worst of all GSL Code S Champions but towards the end of HotS he started to pull it back. sOs however earned the nickname $O$ after taking a $100,000 title when he won the IEM Global Finals.  I predict a 3-1 Victory for sOs as he tends to adapt very well, and is always a consistent threat.

Maru vs Zest TvP – February 3 2016 – 18:30 KST – 4:30 A.M. (ET)

Maru is easily one  of the most well known Terran players beside Innovation, and with him playing against a player like Zest (who was also a GSL Champion) this game has hype written all over it.  In this match up I think Maru may be one of the few to pull it out, however I think Zest will win 3-2.

Leenock vs Jaedong ZvZ – February 3 2016 – 18:30 KST – 4:30 A.M. (ET)

Jaedong has made his return to Korea, and now we see him in the GSL Round of 60 and with that he is playing his legendary matchup JvZ against Leenock a Zerg who has proven himself countless times; even beating Jaedong himself in a previous tournament during HotS.  I think Jaedong will pull through with a 3-0 victory over Leenock despite Leenock beating JD in HotS I think returning to Korea will have a strong impact on Jaedong.

Taeja vs Blaze TvP – February 5 2016 – 18:30 KST – 4:30 A.M. (ET)

Taeja who was perhaps the most feared player in 2013-2014 by winning damn near every tournament he touched. He set a record by winning 7 finals in a row, so the last place you wanted to meet him was the finals. /But he announced retirement late 2014; so with him coming back into Legacy of the Void it should be fun to see him make his return.  Blaze is not a player I know a ton about, with that being said if Taeja is close to his Champion form I think he will be able to 3-0 Blaze.

Innovation vs Stork LEGENDARY TvP – February 5 2016 – 18:30 KST – 4:30 A.M. (ET)

Last but not least is Innovation vs Stork and you cannot say enough about these two players. As far as Innovation goes, you can talk about how he was, and still is, regarded as the best Terran player in the game who also won 2 of the 3 total tournaments won by a Terran player. Playing against him is Stork, the last of the Broodwar Dragons still active. Stork is the playing coach of Samsung Galaxy this guy has potentially the most experience of active players in Starcraft and it will be very scary to see how good he is in Legacy.  Innovation is the guy everyone has been using as an icon for Terran and I think he will carry the torch for all Terran by beating Stork 3-2.

Honorable Mention:

Byun vs Curious, With Byun showing his prowess with the Terran race I think all eyes will be glued to him moving on throughout this tournament.
